The Standard 12 Nights Umrah is built around 7 nights in Makkah and 5 nights in Madinah, giving UK pilgrims a realistic, unhurried rhythm rather than a rushed dash between the two holy cities. Below we set out exactly how the journey unfolds, what to expect from your hotels, and the practical planning points our consultants raise with every traveller before they book.
Splitting your 12 nights as 7 in Makkah followed by 5 in Madinah lets you complete your Umrah rites early, then settle into a calmer routine of Salah at Masjid an-Nabawi and Ziyarat before flying home. Arriving in Makkah first also means your ihram and intention (niyyah) are dealt with close to landing in Jeddah, rather than after a long coach transfer when fatigue makes concentration harder.
Our travel consultants sequence transfers so you are never checking in to a hotel in the middle of the night after a long-haul flight on Qatar Airways. Where flight timings allow, we build in a rest window before your first Tawaf so that your Umrah is performed with focus rather than exhaustion.
In Makkah you will stay at Swissôtel Al Maqam, described to us by returning guests as reliable, clean and well placed relative to the Haram: Haram courtyard access. In Madinah, Al Madinah Concorde offers 300 m to Masjid an-Nabawi, which matters most for the Fajr and Isha prayers when many pilgrims prefer to walk rather than wait for transport.
Board basis on this package is Half board. If you are travelling with elderly parents or young children, ask our team about ground-floor or lift-adjacent rooms — we can usually secure these with advance notice at both properties.
Every package includes full processing of your Umrah e-visa, applied for through the official Nusuk platform on your behalf. We collect your passport details, a recent photograph and vaccination confirmation, and handle the submission — there is no need for you to create your own Nusuk account unless you would like to browse Rawdah visit slots yourself.
UK passport holders should have at least six months' validity remaining from the date of return travel. If you hold a non-British passport or have previously travelled to Saudi Arabia on a different visa type, tell us at the time of booking so we can flag anything unusual before payment.
Most pilgrims enter ihram either before departure from the UK or at the miqat point on the approach to Jeddah, depending on your flight routing. Our pre-departure pack explains exactly when to change, what duas to recite, and the restrictions that apply once you are in ihram, including for those travelling with children who are not yet obligated but often enjoy taking part.
On arrival in Makkah, a group orientation talks you through Tawaf, Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and the shaving or trimming of hair that completes the rites. Pilgrims on this package are never left to work this out alone — a guide is on hand for your first Umrah, with the option to repeat further Umrahs independently during free days.
Guided Ziyarat is included in both cities. In Makkah this typically covers Jabal al-Noor, Jabal Thawr (viewed from outside) and the Miqat sites; in Madinah you will visit Masjid Quba, the Qiblatain Mosque and the Uhud battlefield, with commentary on the history behind each stop.
These excursions are paced for comfort rather than speed — coaches include air conditioning and rest stops, and guides are used to accommodating older pilgrims and families with pushchairs.
The advertised price of £1,490 per person is based on quad-sharing occupancy; twin, triple and single room supplements are quoted individually. Securing your place requires a £350 per person deposit, with the balance due 45 days before departure.

If you are travelling as a family or in a group, let us know room configurations early — connecting rooms and quad-sharing are more readily available with several weeks' notice than at the last minute. Infants and young children usually travel at reduced fares, and we can advise on suitable meal choices where the board basis is half or full board.
