Choosing between economy, standard, premium, luxury, family and group Umrah packages can feel overwhelming when every provider seems to use slightly different terminology. Below is a clear breakdown of what actually separates our package categories, how pricing is built, and how to decide which one suits your circumstances and budget.
How our package categories differ
Economy packages use 3-star hotels a short transfer from the Haram and are aimed at pilgrims prioritising value over proximity, while still including every essential: visa, flights, transfers and Ziyarat. Standard packages step up to hotels within a ten-minute walk, and premium and luxury categories offer Haram-view or near-Haram rooms with higher service levels.
Family packages are built around interconnecting rooms, children's meal arrangements and a slower-paced itinerary, while group packages are designed for mosques and community organisations travelling together, often with a scholar accompanying the trip.
What is genuinely included
Every package, regardless of category, includes your Umrah e-visa, return flights from a UK airport, hotel accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah, airport and intercity transfers, and guided Ziyarat of the major historic sites in both cities.
The categories differ in hotel star rating, distance from the Haram, room size and whether transfers are shared or private, but the core inclusions never change, so comparing packages by price alone without checking these inclusions can be misleading.
Understanding seasonal price movement
Prices for the same package category can vary by several hundred pounds depending on when you travel. Ramadan, particularly the Last Ten Nights, and the summer school holidays are the most expensive periods because hotel demand in Makkah spikes sharply.
Travelling in quieter months, such as June or September outside of the summer peak, or in the weeks immediately after Ramadan, generally secures the same hotel category for noticeably less.
Deposits, balances and payment plans
A £250 per person deposit reserves your chosen package and locks in the price shown at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due 45 days before departure. Group leaders booking multiple rooms can request a staged payment plan spread across several months.
We accept debit and credit card payments as well as bank transfer, and every payment is protected under our ATOL licence for flight-inclusive bookings.
Family travel considerations
Families travelling with young children or elderly relatives often benefit most from our standard or premium categories, since the shorter walk to the Haram reduces fatigue considerably across a multi-day stay. We can also arrange connecting or adjoining rooms so that families are never split across different floors.
For families travelling with infants, we advise on stroller access around the Haram precinct and can flag hotels with lift access close to the entrance rather than requiring long corridor walks.
Group Ziyarat and community departures
Group packages are popular with mosques, Islamic societies and extended families who want to travel together with a shared itinerary and, in many cases, a scholar or imam providing ritual guidance throughout the trip. These departures usually include additional Ziyarat stops such as Taif or Badr that are optional extras on individual bookings.
Group rates apply once numbers exceed fifteen pilgrims, and a dedicated coordinator manages the room list and payment schedule so the group leader is not chasing individual pilgrims for documents.
Accessibility across every category
Wheelchair assistance, accessible hotel rooms where available, and a slower Ziyarat pace can be arranged across any package category, not only premium and luxury. We simply ask that accessibility requirements are flagged at the enquiry stage so we can confirm suitable hotels before you book.
Our in-country coordinators are briefed on every group with additional needs so that arrival, transfers and daily logistics account for them without pilgrims needing to ask twice.
How to decide which package is right for you
If budget is the primary concern and you are comfortable with a short daily transfer, economy packages deliver excellent value without cutting any of the essential inclusions. If proximity to the Haram and hotel comfort matter more, standard or premium categories are worth the additional cost, particularly for older pilgrims.
